Thank you to all who supported and attended the Centennial of Naval Aviation Gala & Auction that took place at the National Naval Aviation Museum on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. It was a wonderful event enjoyed by more than 400 people from the Gulf Coast and around the United States of America.

The Naval Aviation Museum Foundation raised nearly $200,000 to help support our educational programs and exhibits at your National Naval Aviation Museum. Attendees were taken back in time by the inspired performances of volunteers and reenactors which brought Museum exhibits to life in a way never before seen. Guest speakers at the following dinner and live auction included Emmy Award winning actor Mr. Tom Skerritt and Colonel Paul Longgrear, USA (Ret.), who recounted the moving story of Army Special Forces besieged at Lang Vei and the Naval Aviators whose close air support was integral to saving the men on the ground (of those Naval Aviators, Captain Rosario “Zip” Rausa, USN (Ret.), has been nominated for the Navy Cross).

Special thank you to our sponsors and Gala committee members.
