Ever wonder what life was like on board a “city at sea?” Get your sea legs walking below decks in a World War II-era carrier, the sound of a boatswain's pipe sounding “Mail Call” and the din of mechanics a work on an SBD-3 Dauntless that once flew from the carrier Enterprise (CV 6) in 1943 filling your ears. Take a seat in the Ready Room and view the Academy Award-winning film The Fighting Lady, visit the sick bay lined with medicine bottles from the carrier Hornet (CV 12), experience the close quarters living spaces and stop at the always popular ship’s store - the “gedunk” - where the crew purchased small items from razor blades to soft drinks. Everything from Glider Shave Cream to Mars candy bars is packaged in copies of actual wrappers from the 1940s. So real, one can almost feel the deck roll!
Welcome aboard!
