    Commander Gordon Roberts Prentice, USN was born September 5, 1933 in Oak Park, Illinois. He attended Iowa State University where he was in Navy ROTC until he graduated in 1955. Commander Roberts was a serviceman in the Navy from July 1955 to July 1976.

     After retiring, Gordon worked in government management in Hennepin County, Minnesota for 15 years. He retired and lived in Gallatin, Tennessee and Brevard County, Florida. He was very active in MOA, serving as President of MOAACC- Cape Canaveral Chapter- 2,000 + members. He moved to Georgia in March of 2006 and was very active in his retirement community. 
   
     He is survived by his wife, Jane, three daughters and several grandchildren.
