Entered the Navy in 1941 as an aviation cadet. July 7, 1942 designated a Naval Aviator. November 1946, left active duty and joined Shell Oil Company's Aviation Department. Retired from the Naval Reserve in 1977. Retired from Shell Oil Company as Vice President in 1979. Recipient of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation Life Long Service Award in 1997.

As an ensign he was assigned to various squadrons. Saw service in South Atlantic Theater of war. Squadron VPB134 assigned as an engineering officer and Test Pilot. Executive Officer Fasron 836 Beaufort, SC and was transferred to NAS Chincoteague, VA, assigned to Fasron 834 to support group to carrier FDR. Assigned to NAS Norfolk in charge of inventory and support for close out and down sizing of Naval Aviation after World War II. He was introduced to Gen Doolittle of the Aviation Dept., Shell Oil Company and accepted a position with them. He was with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston as their Aviation Consultant. Anthony died February 24, 1999 leaving behind his wife of 55 years, Lucille.
