3D Flight Simulators – Ready for Takeoff! We have two state-of-the-art MaxFlight Simulators; under your control, these high definition simulators are capable of air-to-air combat and stunt flying. Combined with patented, fully interactive 360 degree pitch and roll technology, kids and adults are sure to agree that MaxFlight is one of the world’s most exciting indoor attractions!

Motion Based Simulator

The new and improved HD Motion-Based Simulator is a five-minute, multi-sensory experience that combines a movie-like audiovisual presentation using a high-definition projection screen and surround-sound, with the motion of the ride compartment. The fully enclosed simulator capsule, which accommodates up to 15 passengers, can move in six directions, allowing you to experience horizontal rolls, longitudinal pitches and vertical climbs.

There are two different rides you may choose from in our Flight Simulator. In the Blue Angel Simulation, riders experience flight in a Navy F/A-18 Hornet on a low-level mission, including high-performance turns and maneuvers. Or you can take off from an aircraft carrier and do battle in the Iraqi desert in the Desert Storm Simulation.

Rides start every six to seven minutes and run continuously from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Look for discounts on combo packages that include IMAX® movies and simulator rides. Passengers must be three years or older to ride the Motion-Based Simulator.

The IMAX® Naval Aviation Memorial Theatre is one of the largest IMAX® theatres in the world and has the largest screen in Florida. It took nearly two years to construct the theatre. The screen is 10 times larger than a traditional cinema screen, and fills the whole field of peripheral vision.

Made of a reflective and perforated vinyl, the screen is mounted taut over a scaffold frame containing 690 tons of structural steel and 1,990 cubic yards of concrete. The screen is 62 feet high and 82 feet wide with a frontal surface area of 5,084 square feet. The screen itself weighs over 600 pounds. The projector passes 70mm film at 24 frames per second over a 3-foot diameter rotor turning at 180 mph, projecting an image on the screen magnified 273 times the size of the film frame.
