Crossroads of America Scout Band
Free Patriotic Concert
2 p.m., Tuesday, July 15
National Naval Aviation Museum

Crossroads of America Scout Band is recognized as the oldest Scout Band in the U.S. since it has been in continuous operation since its inception in 1917.  The band is composed of registered Scouts and Scouters from throughout central Indiana. The band has a rich heritage since it was first organized in 1917 as a drum and bugle corps by Mr. F.O. “Chief” Belzer, the first Scout Executive in Indianapolis.

The band has enjoyed many activities throughout its rich history.  The band takes its show on the road each year with a summer tour.  The tour combines all aspects of the band and Scouting with concerts, parades, and fun and is considered the highlight of the band’s year.  Tours have taken the band to 47 of the 50 states, Mexico, Canada and England. The band has played for five Presidents of the United States and the Queen of England. More history and pictures through the years can be found on the band’s web site at www.scoutband.com
