The National Naval Aviation Museum will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 26, reopening at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27.

OY-1 Sentinel

The OY-1 Sentinel was employed by the Marine Corps during World War II for artillery spotting and casualty evacuation from forward areas. During the Okinawa campaign, Sentinels served as spotting planes for land-based aircraft moving in behind the invasion forces.
