AJ Savage

Orderd by the Navy in 1946 as a high-performance carrier-based nuclear strike aircraft, the AJ Savage was the largest (at the time) nuclear strike aircraft to fly from an aircraft carrier. Uniquely equipped with two radial engines as well as an auxillary jet in the tail, the Savage had great range and payload, and was also used as an in-flight refueling tanker. The Museum's aircraft is the last remaining Savage.
