Significant Achievements:
1941 involved in mid-air crash of 2 TBD-1s. Had to bail out. Picked up in water by J2F.On sunday, 7 Dec. as AOM 2/C assigned as rear seat gunner to 6 T-2. That evening XVT-6 w/18 TBD-1s & 6 VB-6's SBD-2s flew what I believe was 1st offensive sortie by US Carrier aircraft WWII.
