| Primary Flight Instructors The graduation of every Naval Aviator is culminated when they receive the coveted Wings of Gold. But before the Student Naval Aviator reaches that goal, there are hours of instruction to be received. Perhaps the most important and intense hours of instruction are those provided by the Primary Flight Instructors as they instill the basics of flight technique and safety into the fledgling aviators. Every Naval Aviator, of every era, owes a great debt of gratitude to their Primary Flight Instructors. To represent all Primary Flight Instructors, those of the year 1943 are depicted as representing the best of the fleet, doing their duty to train for the future. This memorial is presented through the generosity of: Commander Joseph Mooney, USN (Ret.) of West Lafayette, Indiana |
