CDR WILLIAM H. ANDERSON , USN
1921 - 2007


CDR William H. Anderson, USN, #116656. was born February 22, 1921 in Westerly, Rhode Island. Bill began his career as an aviation cadet in 1941, and served 27 years on the USS Santee, USS Cabot, USS Bon Homme Richard and USS Oriskany. He was in the VT-29 Squadron during WWII and VA-175. He was the first CO of VF-213 "Black Lions" and VA-126.

Commander Anderson's honors include the Navy Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross with one star, Air Medal with two stars, Presidential Citation with two stars, Campaign Ribbons for American Defense, American Campaign, Phillipine Liberation, Victory Medal, United Nations Medal, United Nations Servoce Medal (Korea) and National Defense Service Medal.

He was a loving husband, father and friend.
