CDR WILLIAM THOMAS MARR, USN
1936 - 2000

CDR "Bill" Marr was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, to Mr. and Mrs. Urban Thomas Marr. He graduated from the Loras Academy High School in 1954. In 1957, he joined the U.S. Navy and entered flight training at NAS Pensacola, Florida. CDR Marr became a designated Naval Aviator in 1958. He married Laurel Jeane Venteicher, in Iowa, in 1958. He served aboard aircraft carriers during three combat tours and two non-combat cruises during the Vietnam era.
